District Governor Therese Mahussier humbly says this of herself, “I may never be the best District Governor, but I aim to be the best District Governor that I can be. As District Governor, I must never forget that Lions and Lioness are volunteers, giving freely of their time. I am always amazed at how much they accomplish.”

District Governor Howard Steinley I went to High School in Herbert and now I am proud to be a member of the Herbert Lions Club.

Most of my life has been spent on the family dairy farm at Rush Lake, just 10 miles west of Herbert. Our three boys who were raised on the farm and their families are living close by. This gives us the wonderful opportunity to enjoy our 5 grandchildren.

Volunteering in community and farming organizations has been a major part of my life.

When I retired from dairy farming, I found that I had some spare time to devote to other activities. I chose to become a member of the Herbert Lion’s Club.

In the Herbert Club I have been first and second vice president, president for two terms and treasurer for two terms. I have served as a Cabinet member for 4 years and zone chairman for 1 year. I was humbled and appreciative of the opportunity to serve as Vice District Governor and District Governor for 2007 – 2008.

My special interest will be to encourage local clubs to look for projects that will make Lionism fun while serving the community and promoting International Programs. .
