Lion Wanda Mitchell, PDG, has been a member of the Hill City Lions Club since 1996. She has served on the Board of Directors and 2 years as President of the Club. In 1997 and 1998 she was privileged to attend the Lions Leadership Institute in Oak Brook, Ill.
She has been an active member of the District Cabinet serving as Zone Chair for 2 years and Membership Chair for 3 years. Lion Wanda served as Vice District Governor in 2000-2001, District Governor 2001-2002 and the South Dakota Representative in 2002-2003. She has attended all but one of the District Fall Rally’s and all of the State Conventions. Lion Wanda has attended many of the USA/Canada Lions Leadership Forums and 3 International Conventions. She has been honored with many Certificates of Appreciation and 1 International Presidents Certificate of Appreciation.
Lion Wanda has sponsored 6 new Lions into the world of Lionism and is frequently called upon to Induct new members into various clubs in the district. She had been active in the District conducting Round Table Discussion groups on Membership and Retention.
Lion Wanda served on the Board of Directors for the South Dakota Lions Eye Bank for 6 years and is currently serving on the Board of Directors for the South Dakota Lions Foundation. She is also an active member of the S.D. Past District Governor’s Association.
She is a Registered Nurse, having recently retired after caring for the Veteran’s of the Armed Forces for 35 years. Lion Wanda has 1 daughter, 2 grandsons and 2 Great Granddaughters..
